Hello! My name is Hailey Jo Smith. I am a 24 year old fine artist based in Phoenix, Arizona. I received my Honors BFA in Studio Art from the University of Arizona in 2023. I currently work as a freelance artist, offering murals, commissions, paint parties, live painting, art education, and more!

Art is communication. A method of information sharing that transcends spoken language barriers. My art articulates my experiences and philosophies into the form of colors and shapes. These elements become a communication, an invitation to connect.

If you, the viewer, find yourself relating to the messages, imagery, and heart in my work, you become a participant in the creative process.
Through your engagement with the work, an entirely new perspective is born, a new dialogue is spoken.
We find ourselves together in an artistic cosmos; Inside of which we can exchange perceptions, reflections, and appreciations of each other and the world, artwork as the vessel.
Art can speak what we do not have words for, it can hold space, it can symbolize, and it can describe. Beyond just expression, art can also motivate. It can untie, encourage, enlighten, and inspire. My intention is to use the descriptive, symbolic quality of colors and symbols to inspire a deeper connection to the richness of the human experience. My artwork recognizes the whimsical, yet extremely intense, nature of our reality here on Earth. These themes of profound contrast, shared experience, and conscious connection with the present moment lead us to an encounter with the joyful, the deep, the real, and the awesome. My work asks you to be here, now, to love, to embody gratitude, and to create a more beautiful reality, together.

My favorite projects are MURALS! I have had the pleasure so far of painting eight murals in Arizona, and three international murals, in Thailand, Laos, and The Philippines.
It is my dream to one day travel all over the world, donating murals that capture the unique beauty of each location that I visit. I imagine that ten years from now Hailey Jo Art will be found on hundreds of walls, from hostels to surf shacks, city sky-scrapers to hospitals, living rooms to schools, and any other art-needing spaces in between!
